Late July… when you still feel safely enveloped in the magic of summer. At the market it means a veritable wonderland of gorgeous veggies and sun-ripened fruits. You name it, we’ve got it. We have canning on our minds and are dreaming up dozens of ways to preserve all those fresh herbs. We see those mountains of peaches and we think pie, or freshly churned ice cream. Sweet corn? Fire up that grill. Musikfest has nothing on our just-picked corn! And flowers? Bunches and bunches, in every color of the rainbow.

 

It’s gonna be a hot one this Saturday, but it’s that heat that’s brings this beautiful bounty. Keep in mind that the hot temps and ample rain have things moving a little faster this season, so don’t miss out on your favorite fruits. Ben Scholl reports that all his produce is about 7-10 days ahead of schedule. Nature has a wonderful way of reminding us to live in the moment.
