Join us for a sweet and juicy celebration of midsummer’s most beloved tree fruit!
Here’s a peachy little tune to get you in the mood!
This Saturday is Peach Day: a celebratory day for one of the most prized local stone fruits. Did you know that August is National Peach Month? Peach trees also produce fruit for about 12 years, producing an average of 66 lbs. of fruit per year. In PA, we have about 4,000 acres of land dedicated to peach production. All of that acreage equates to about 40 million pounds of peaches, bringing in around $20 million dollars a year. I know how much our peaches are prized in other states, so let’s give them a big heaping dose of local love. We know our vendors are with everything from crates and crates of the freshest PA peaches to peach buckle cupcakes to peach tea to peach yogurt. You get the picture! Plus, we have a full spread of guest vendors this week.
