Back on the riverfront this week, with an abundance of fresh produce to keep your tables colorful and your palates intrigued. It’s the time of year when you get to pair robust, creamy squash with the zing of bitter greens like mustards and frisee. Apples are still a hot ticket item with the arrival of Pink Ladies at Scholl Orchards this Saturday! Fall brings out pops of rich, earthy flavor from root crops and an abundance of ways to get creative in the kitchen. So long as it’s not 80 degrees, the smells and heat from the oven provide comfort in both heat and aroma. It helps to have a freshly sharpened set of knives from Allerton Creek Farm Sharpening – they are BACK this Saturday!
And for the love of our farmers, please wish for rain!
Did we mention we have super seasonal squash totes at our merchandise booth? And some new duds for the fall and winter?
As always, thank you for showing up for fresh, local food!
