Watch out, everyone! Easton is about to be taken over by Leopards.
We are excited to introduce a new group of students to all things Easton while welcoming back former students to the little city we all love! What better way to familiarize yourself with what the area has to offer than explore America’s Oldest Open Air Market (*cough cough*) and learning how to get crafty in the communal kitchens with farm-fresh foods! A bottle of Easton Salsa Co.’s hot sauce will become your new best friend in the dining hall!
One of my favorite memories is exploring my college town’s farmers’ market and food scene in my first days, weeks, and months of my freshman year. I grew a deeper connection to the town, the farmers, the local food advocates, and gained a weekly routine of grabbing my veggies and spending time with my friends splayed out on the grass eating our market treats and procrastinating on school work. This connection to the farmers’ market inspired me to explore the local agriculture scene in ways that blossomed into a career surrounded by incredible food and farms. I hope you all find solace and inspiration in the market in the ways that I have, and still find plenty of ways to make it your own!” -Emily Roland, Market Manager
And remember, college life doesn’t have to mean all dining hall food all the time. A great gift would be a new cutting board or decorative piece from one of our two woodworking vendors this Saturday – and a tomato pie! Check out our Guest Vendors for this week’s market (August 24th, 2024): Chiqui Woodworking, Cody’s Eats and Sweets, Gracie Woodworking.
