DESCRIPTION:It’s tomato time! Come celebrate summer’s shining star in all its glorious forms. Taste test your way through a table of farm-fresh heirlooms\, savor their subtle nuances and chat with Penn State Master Gardener Sophia Feller about the many varieties of tomatoes grown in the Lehigh Valley. Watch Chef Ada Chandler as she demonstrates ‘How to Use Tomatoes Now and Later.’ and learn the right way to roast tomatoes and how to preserve the summer flavor through sauce and salsas. EFM vendors will have some tomato-delish specialties\, including Sycamore Grille’s mouth watering fried green tomatoes\, along with lots of local juicy tomatoes fresh from the farm at EFM vendors Scholl Orchards\, Backyard Growers\, Blooming Glen Farm (organic)\, Salvaterra’s Gardens (organic) and Pheasant Hill Farm. \n \nAnd bring the kids — starting at 9:30 am it’s the Mr. & Mrs. Tomato Head Contest awarding prizes for Funniest\, Most Glamorous and Most Organic. Winners will receive an EFM t-shirt and $10 in market tokens. POP members who participate will also earn $3 in POP bucks to buy fresh fruits and veggies at the market. Kids who haven’t signed up for the market’s free POP Club yet are still welcome to do so. Just visit the Info Tent at the market\, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturdays.  Tomato min-golf will also be returning this year to delight the kids. \nEnjoy usic from 10 am to 12 noon by ‘Friends of Tom’ on the North Lawn of the Circle and the grown-ups can enjoy Eight Oaks Craft Distillers’ Bloody Mary bar — there’s something for everyone at EFM’s Tomato Day 2018!! \n  \n  \n  \n

Indulge in peach cobbler\, peach smoothies\, peach sangria\, peach pie and peaches by the bushel!  Kids activities\, live music and more. \nPower of Produce Kids’ Club members can do a peachy taste test and earn $2 in POP bucks to shop the market. Kids can also stop by a Teddy Bear Clinic or make dirt cupcakes (out of cookie crumbs and gummy worms) with the Easton Compost Program for $1. \nBob Keel will be in the Music Tent from 9:30 – 11:30 am and Valley Milkhouse will present a cheese-making demo at 12 noon. \nIt’s all peachy! \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Valley’s hottest veggie race returns for its 12th year! Get ready to squash the competition in this fun and zany race. Entry fee $6 or free for POP Club Members – includes your choice of zucchini\, wheels & axles\, commemorative racing necklace\, and access to carving tools and accessories with expert assistance from the Zuke 500 Pit Crew. Carving period 9 am – 10:45 am. Race begins at 11:00 am. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest car in each category: Sports Car\, Mid-Size and Monster Truck. Cars may be pre-carved but wheels must be attached directly to zucchini. DESCRIPTION:  \nIt’s here – opening day of the Easton Farmers’ Market on Saturday\, May 5th.  Come early when the market opens at 9 am to welcome back all of your favorite vendors and say hello to some new ones. \nFestivities begin at 10 am with Easton’s Town Crier\, David Rose\, calling shoppers and visitors to the ribbon cutting ceremony marking the 266th year that the market has operated in Easton’s Centre Square.  Established in 1752\, EFM is the longest continuously operating open-air market in the nation.  Mayor Sal Panto Jr. and State Senator Bob Freeman will be there to welcome everyone back to the Circle for the 2018 market season. \nFree activities for children hosted by the Arts Community of Easton and the Greater Valley YMCA along with an appearance by Sunny\, the market’s mascot\, will make this a great time for the family to shop for fresh and local products and enjoy crafts\, games and music.  Everyone can get their ‘beet going’ with live entertainment by High Street House Band in the Music Tent from 11 am to 1 pm.
