JUNE

  • 9th – Revitalize with Rebekah – Strawberry Day craft
  • 23rd – June Bee Jamboree PA Honey Queen, honeybee crafts, beekeeping demonstrations, June Bee tea party & parade

JULY

  • 14th – Sing N Move It’s educational and fun as kids celebrate the joy of music with Miss Liv
  • 21st – Zucchini 500 – Build and race your zucchini car – $6 fee for materials or free for POP Club Members

SEPTEMBER

  • 1st – Revitalize with Rebekah Sunflower Day at EFM – kids’ craft
  • 1st – Book & Puppet Co. — Book signing and Mindfulness Workshop for Kids
  • 8th – Sing N Move – It’s educational and fun as kids celebrate the joy of music with Miss Lena

Introducing the Power of Produce (POP) Club on June 9th

A fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations directly with our farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. In addition to participating in educational activities, POP Club kids receive vouchers (POP Bucks) to spend at the market, allowing them to make their own shopping decisions and what they like.  Strawberry Day is June 9th and Chef Ada Chandler will be kicking off the POP Club with a cooking demo that’s all about the nutrition and tastiness of the sweet strawberry!

July

7th  Colonial times – see how produce fed the soldiers during the Revolutionary War
14th – Join Book & Puppet Co. for ‘Fun with POP’ Part I – storybook time with authors Sergio Ruzzier & Rowboat Watkins
21st Zucchini 500Show your POP passport and get a ‘free ride’ to build and race a zucchini car
28th Market Tour with Peter Todaro at 10:30 am & 11:30 am – meet EFM’s produce farmers and see what they grow

August

4th Peach Day – Taste peaches grown by EFM farmers and peaches from the grocery store – vote for the best tasting
11th – Join Book & Puppet Co. for ‘Fun with POP’ Part II – Puppet Show
18th Tomato Day – Make a Mr. or Mrs. Tomato Head with colorful produce
25th Vote for your favorite EFM produce farmer

September

1st – Wear your favorite produce – select your face painting from a variety of produce designs
8th – Chef Jaime Karpovich shows how kids can make colorful foods using produce like rainbow pizza and red velvet smoothies.
15th – Chile Pepper Day – Pick your favorite pepper coloring sheet and make a masterpiece for all to see
22nd – Taste a variety of apples – sweet, tart and in-between
29th – Final Day of the Season – Grand Finale Chef’s Produce Demo
