The Easton Farmers’ Market is truly a grassroots organization. The success we’ve achieved is based on community commitment and the ongoing dedication of our market volunteers. Over 100 volunteers have contributed their time and talent to EFM over the course of the past decade. As the market grows so does our need for volunteers. If you love the EFM and are looking to be part of a dynamic, positive team that’s directly contributing to the growth and vibrancy of your community,

A tribute to our volunteers September 2017 – Still true today!!

How has the Easton Farmers’ Market been able to operate for the last 265 years?  Well, we don’t know exactly how operations were managed in the early years, but we do know about recent times.   We know that there would be no market today if a group of volunteers had not come together in 2002 to ensure that our nation’s most historic outdoor market didn’t fade away.  Down to one vendor who unfortunately passed away that year, the ‘Friends of the Market’ made sure that history continued to happen in Centre Square by enlisting a small band of vendors to sell their goods during that pivotal season and then growing the market into a vibrant commercial hub of over 30 vendors.

And history continues to happen today, as a group of  amazingly positive, dedicated and tireless folks show up week-after-week at the market in the early morning before the market opens (no matter the weather) to unload a trailer, lug chairs and tables, set up tents, and ready the market for another day. Volunteers also staff our information tent, sell merchandise, and operate our EBT terminal and are happy to talk with visitors about what downtown Easton and EFM has to offer. And then the volunteers tear it all down at the end of the market and pack it away until the next week… all the while with smiles on their faces knowing that they are performing a valuable service to the community by supporting local farms and food purveyors and the revitalization of downtown Easton.  So if you see someone in the Circle sporting a navy blue volunteer tee shirt, take a moment to say ‘thank you,’ because we really couldn’t do what we do without them.

THANK YOU EASTON FARMERS’ MARKET VOLUNTEERS!!
